Overview

At 2,730 metres above sea level, Prashar Lake trek is beautiful. A pagoda-shaped temple with beautiful architecture, Rishi Prashar Temple is a must-see. The campgrounds near the lake are a great place to stay if you want to enjoy the breathtaking views of the high peaks. While talking shop around the bonfire and admiring the starry night sky, have a good time with your group. Take a hike along some of the most amazing trails, which are bordered by pine trees and numerous streams.

Beautiful rivers and highly forested Himalayan, hills must be crossed before you reach the lake. The walk starts along the river basin. After fifteen minutes on the route, there is the solitary water source, so fill up while you can because you’ll need it later.

The trail turns steeply after leaving the river and you begin your journey. It takes about 4 kilometres to complete this moderately steep climb. There are places along the trail that open up into lovely meadows and offer breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains. Arrive in Mandi; Prashar Lake Trek

You will be met by one of our representatives when you arrive in Mandi early in the morning to begin the tour.

Take a shared transfer to Baggi, which is where the trek begins.

After eating breakfast on your own and packing a lunch, begin the 9-kilometre trek to Prashar Lake. You’ll arrive at your destination by the end of the afternoon.

Spend some time at the lake before beginning the short hike to the nearby campsite.

Check in and take advantage of the evening with a bonfire and dinner before deciding to call it a night. You can also stay up a little later if you’d like to gaze at the beautiful stars in the night sky.

How to get to the Prashar Lake Trek basecamp: Mandi, Baggi Village, Delhi/Chandigarh-

The Prashar Lake trek starts in Baggi, which is 27 kilometres away from Mandi. Day 1’s transportation is set up by tour operator, where from you book your trip at 6:30 am from the Mandi bus stop.

If you’re taking the bus, take the Volvo from Delhi to Mandi in Himachal. On every bus route to Kullu or Manali, the first stop is Mandi. Himachal Roadways and Himachal Tourism operate Volvo buses that depart from Delhi’s Himachal Bhawan every day. It takes 10 to 12 hours to travel 430 kilometres to get to Mandi from Delhi.

It takes 6-7 hours to travel from Chandigarh to Mandi by Volvo bus.

The historical context of Prashar Lake

Having once meditated here, Prashar Rishi regards the lake as holy. The temple, which was built in the 13th century in the Rishi’s honour and was given his name by Raja Bank Sen of Mandi, was designed with mesmerising Himachali architecture.
