Parasyte

Among the most popular mangas in Japan, Parasyte is about a young high school student named Shinichi Izumi who becomes a part of an alien race known as Parasites. The Parasites are described as worm-like creatures that travel through the human body to become a part of the human brain. During this process, the Parasites take over vital organs of the host body, which allows them to survive.

The manga was initially serialized in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine from 1990-1995. It was then published by Tokyopop and Del Rey in the USA, Canada, and Japan. It was also adapted into two live-action films, one in 1994 and the other in 1995. In 2016, Parasyte manga volumes were translated into English.

The story involves a high school boy who is a part of a conspiracy to invade the human population. He must learn to balance the urge to protect his fellow humans with the desire to hide his secret. Ultimately, he becomes a threat to both his friends and the other Parasites.

Hunter x Hunter

Whether you’re a fan of anime or manga, you may have heard about Hunter x Hunter. This is an anime series based on the manga of the same name. It was first produced by Nippon Animation in 1999. Since then, it has aired on several platforms.

The story of Hunter x Hunter revolves around a young boy named Gon Freecss. He aims to become a hunter like his father, Ging Freecss. The boy leaves his island home at the age of twelve to attend Hunter examinations.

He meets an old woman called Abe, who wears a white sweater with matching sweatpants. She often smiles with her eyes closed. Abe is the mother of Gon’s sister, Mito Freecss.

The first version of the Hunter x Hunter anime aired in the United States on the Funimation Channel in 2009. The show was adapted from the manga of the same name and had a short run.

Revolutionary Girl Utena

Originally aired on television Tokyo in 1997, the Revolutionary Girl Utena anime series follows the character of Utena Tenjou.
